Travelling from England to Joensuu

Several Airlines ( BA, Finnair, Ryanair, Blue1) have scheduled flights to Helsinki. Finncomm and Finnair fly from Helsinki to Joensuu. At Joensuu airport there is a joint taxi service straight to Loma-Koli.

Alternatively, you can also go to Joensuu first by coach (waiting at the airport) and then catch another coach to Koli from the bus station (next to railway station). The bus will take you to Kolinportti. Local bus will be waiting for you to complete your journey to Loma-Koli, which is about 400 meters from the cottage.

If you are travelling by Ryanair, you need to catch a train to Joensuu from Tampere. The bus service to Koli from Joensuu is as mentioned above.

Driving directions from Joensuu

• Road number 6 - Oulu/Kajaani direction
• Off road 6 onto a local road 504 (turns right by Kolinportti) near Koli village to Loma-Koli
• Turn right before Loma-Koli restaurant (called "Kolikeskus") to Satamatie and a right again to Koiritie

Driving directions from Kuopio

• Road number 17 - Joensuu
• Local road 504 left - Outokumpu/Polvijarvi
• 504 continues to Koli (Kolinportti services), from Koli village to Loma-Koli
• Turn right before Loma-Koli restaurant (called "Kolikeskus") to Satamatie and a right again to Koiritie

Driving directions from Lieksa

• Local road 73 - Joensuu/Ahveninen
• By Ahveninen road 515 right
• Road number 6 - Oulu/kajaani
• Local road 504 (turns right by Kolinportti services), from Koli village to Loma-Koli
• Turn right before Loma-Koli restaurant (called "Kolikeskus") to Satamatie and a right again to Koiritie

Or if you want to drive via the National Park following the Pielinen lake...

• Turn right off the road number 515 - Herajoki
• After Herajoki bridge immediate right towards Koli (road may not be maintained during wintertime)
• Turn right - Koli harbour/Ukko-Koli hills
• 504 left towards Loma-Koli
• Turn right before Loma-Koli restaurant (called "Kolikeskus") to Satamatie and a right again to Koiritie
